Ever since the release of Iron Man in 2008, American cinema has been dominated by the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the superhero craze it kicked off.  Seventeen movies, over thirteen billion dollars, a handful of TV, and a seismic shift in American culture later, fans have a serious question to answer.
