‘Social Justice’ and ‘White Privilege’ DEBUNKED

Social justice is the left’s attempt to “level” the playing field. It is meant to make all of us “equal”. This, at first sounds okay, equal rights and opportunities should be granted to all individuals. However, the left denies individuals the right to their individuality, and only care about equality of outcome. For example, if two individuals are in a room one with $5 and one with $500, something must have gone horribly wrong. This is why one of Bernie’s biggest talking points is income inequality, it doesn’t matter that we have massive income mobility in the United States, that is people moving up and down the income ladder. The only thing that matters is the outcome. Personal responsibility and individual choices are completely disregarded in this quest for equal outcome, which is inherently anti-nature. Why would you expect different people, who have unique individuality to strive for the same thing? Why is it bad if they do? Why is it inherently bad to raise children instead of work? Why does the left complain about the wage gap, when it is simply women’s choices to have a more balanced lifestyle? Think about it – millions of years of evolution you’d think women have some biological reason to have children, as that is how a species survives after all.

My second contention of ‘social justice’ revolves around ‘white privilege’ and Black Lives Matter.

What is white privilege? – according to the SPLC, a far left organization that suggests anyone who is right wing is part of a hate group, white privilege is;

White skin privilege is not something that white people necessarily do, create or enjoy on purpose. Unlike the more overt individual and institutional manifestations of racism described above, white skin privilege is a transparent preference for whiteness that saturates our society. White skin privilege serves several functions. First, it provides white people with “perks” that we do not earn and that people of color do not enjoy. Second, it creates real advantages for us. White people are immune to a lot of challenges. Finally, white privilege shapes the world in which we live — the way that we navigate and interact with one another and with the world.”

Perks conferred by white privilege (according to the SPLC)

  • When I cut my finger and go to my school or office’s first aid kit, the flesh-colored band-aid generally matches my skin tone.
  • When I stay in a hotel, the complimentary shampoo generally works with the texture of my hair.

As for these two;

  • Bandaids are offered in many different colors and style, my personal favorite being Garfield the cat.
  • There was no scientific data in the SPLC’s article on this, so it can be dismissed without evidence.

Advantages given with white privilege (according to the SPLC)

  • My skin color does not work against me in terms of how people perceive my financial responsibility, style of dress, public speaking skills, or job performance.
  • People do not assume that I got where I am professionally because of my race (or because of affirmative action programs).
  • Store security personnel or law enforcement officers do not harass me, pull me over or follow me because of my race.

The argument is: White people and America is a racist terrible place, and if you are black you’ll never overcome this.

Firstly –

Statistical disparity DOES NOT ALWAYS MEAN discrimination. For example, most of the NFL is men over 6’, that does mean that their is some anti-5’ conspiracy  to keep short people out of the NFL.  In America, meritocracy rules.

Skin Color’s effect on ‘Financial Responsibility Perceptions, and affirmative action’

A study done by University of Iowa in 2014 concluded that lenders ‘discriminate’ against white women and black males, and that black women were lent to at a rate higher than white males. These results should be taken with a grain of salt however, as the statistical size wasn’t very big. Logically, however, why would a lender discriminate to a qualified individual? And if they did, what is keeping another lender from lending money to this discriminated group and making a mint off of all of this? Capitalism is the best way to fight bigotry, as you’re best suited in the marketplace catering to as many clients as possible. If someone decides to be racist, homophobic or bigoted in any possible way, that opens a space in the market for a new company to out-compete the bigoted one. Capitalism is color blind. Affirmative action is actually a privilege for blacks, an Asian has to score 280 points higher on their SAT to be accepted into a college, which for blacks is definitively a privilege.

Skin color’s effect on ‘law enforcement harassment and crime’

This is the most common “white privilege” perk you hear. The police hate black people and want to beat them up and throw them in jail, except they don’t.  More whites die from cops than black people. Police are less likely to kill blacks than whites, according to a Harvard University study. In fact, whites are over represented in police shootings when you adjust for crime and the homicide rate. What about getting pulled over by police? Are blacks discriminated against in terms of pull-overs? Nope, NJ attorney general and the DOJ commissioned a study, and found that blacks were 22% of all speeding tickets and 25% of people speeding, so they were speeding more than they were ticketed. Black communities are plagued by under-policing, not over policing. Black Lives Matter’s polices and demands would kill more blacks and make the community poorer and significantly less safe. Effective policing tools need to be an enacted, such as stop an frisk, which has been showed to lower gun crime rates, when these polices are enacted it will drop crime and save black lives. Companies don’t invest in black communities because of high property crime rates, the risk is too high. Once it drops, companies will invest, they have no incentive not to invest. Cops are the solution, not the problem. The disproportionate poverty rate in the black community has nothing to do with racism and everything to do with personal choices and police departments afraid to be called racist.

    1. I was out at the NFL analogy, it’s flawed and deconstructing it makes me feel like I’m insulting my own people. Oh yeah, and anyone who would sacrifice liberty for security deserves neither.
